Teen Angst (National Poetry Month Edition)

April 30, 2012 by carol anne Leave a Comment

existential angst as expressed by a 15 year old

Hey! Good evening and welcome to day 30 of National Poetry Month. For this final day of Poetry Month I offer you an original poem written by me. *laughs* It is the very definition of teenage angst. It was first published (ha ha, first published) in my high school’s annual literary publication, The Patroness in 1988 that makes me a sophomore at the time.

Thanks for indulging me for this last month it’s been fun sharing poems with you. I’ll be back in May (tomorrow) with a photo-a-day project in honor of National Photo Month.

a shot of the actual page it appeared on (FYI 50 is one of my favorite numbers)

In my handwriting at the bottom left corner of the page it says.

My greatest achievement.

My proudest moment.

First published poem.
