Scrawny Squirrel

The Tale of the Hungry Squirrel

March 20, 2012 by carol anne 5 Comments

We have a regular visitor to our backyard. He’s a cutie pie. Usually he stops by to share peanuts with the Blue Jays and to munch on his bowl of critter food. But it seems he’s developed a taste for something new, suet. I bought this suet feeder to attract smaller birds like finches and woodpeckers. Little did I know I was offering up a new entree for our friendly neighborhood squirrel too.

Friendly Neighborhood Squirrel

Actually he’s very cute.

Looking Up!

But don’t let his innocent little face fool you.

Looking Innocent

He’s really quite clever and incredibly agile and apparently rather hungry with a taste for suet.

Not So Innocently Stealing Bird Food

Eating Stolen Bird Food

He’s cute so I let him slide.

Mmmm ... Seconds

And what meal is complete without an ice cold beverage?

On the Rocks! Just How I Like it.
