I don’t know how to start this so I’ll just start it here. I met the nicest most kindest person tonight. As I said last night I had an appointment to meet with the owner of the salon down the road for a wig consultation. After work Chuck came and picked me up to take me to the salon for my appointment. The salon was empty (it was almost closing time) when we entered and I was instantly nervous. I know that my life shouldn’t revolve around vanity and that buying a wig should be the least of the things to frighten me but I was nervous.
I gave my name at the desk and sat down to wait. In no time at all Martino came out to talk to us. He sat down with us and took the time to ask me what I want and what my hair use to look like. Did I want bangs? He asked me to e-mail him photos so he’d have an idea when he went out to look for a wig. He was so nice and so genuinely kind. I forget there’s people like that out there in the world. I don’t know when I’ll have my wig but I’m excited to see myself with hair again.
I’m so blessed from my family to the nurses and doctors who’ve taken care of me to my friends who’ve come out of the woodwork to love and support me to this wonderful graceful salon owner everyone has been so kind to me.
