Veep (a mini review)

April 23, 2012 by carol anne Leave a Comment

Just finished watching Veep. Wasn’t this supposed to be funny? I was expecting Julia Louis-Dreyfus to be so much more animated. The show came across as frustrating and uncomfortable rather than laugh out loud uproariously funny. I think I’ll give it a few weeks to hit its stride and hope it gets better. After watching Girls and Veep I’m starting to get concerned that Aaron Sorkin’s Newsroom won’t live up to my expectations.

Girls (a mini review)

April 16, 2012 by carol anne Leave a Comment

Just watched the 1st episode of Girls on DVR. Easily the most excruciating 35 mins of my life. About midway through I thought to myself, I really hate these girls. The whole first episode focused on the whiny 24 year old main character, Hannah falling apart because her parents decided not to support her financially anymore. I’d be willing to give you that the 1st episode was slow because it was setting up the story but holy hell that Hannah character is REALLY unlikable. #SpoiledRichKids
