I’ve been outside of the house 3x times today! First, a walk to the mailbox all by my lonesome (go me!); second, a trip to Duffield’s for hoagies (yum); and finally a trip to Starbucks for an iced grande caramel macchiato. I’m sipping that right now and loafing about on Facebook.
I’ve cut the pain meds back to 1 every 6 hours with 2 planned for bedtime. I’m in no real pain really it’s more the tightness and stiffness of my left shoulder. It was harder to get in the car than I imagined it would be but I managed and Chuck helped fasten my seatbelt.
All in all a very good day, which included a nice phone chat with Tommy and Arlene.
Well Glory be! Soapboxville is up and running again. *laughs* Last Friday you got a nice visit from Mr. Soapy and this Friday you got Bupkis. Sorry about that kids. Either Comcast had some sort of routing problem or Soapboxville was down entirely. *shakes head*
Well, anyway, I’m alive and well and eating fresh strawberries from the farm down the road. I had a good day yesterday. My treatment was quick, painless (as always) and over and done by 10:15am. We made our way to Wegmans for a bagel and cream cheese before buying some more orange juice (Natalie’s Orchid Island, you have to try it, it’s awesome) some fuji apple juice by Red Jacket Orchard (which I also heartily recommend), Irish butter (I”ll let you know what I think) and some yummy, delicious gorgonzola filled olives. It’s a long ride home from that side of south Jersey so we didn’t dilly dally and made our way home quickly with our tasty bounty.
We did stop at Lens Crafters on the way home to pick up Mr. Soapy’s new spectacles. You should see them kids. He looks mighty handsome. I told him that he’d be the subject of last night’s daily photo but unfortunately this here little space of Internet real estate was sleeping on the job. I’ll make sure to remind him that he’s still not off the hook. *laughs*
After we got home and put our Wegman’s purchases in the fridge we ran around the corner to the farm for fresh strawberries, some lunchmeat and the best chicken salad you’ve ever eaten and some fresh lemonade. There are days I love living here. Friday was one of those days. The farm has awesome produce, an amazing bakery and a deli that carries Boar’s Head lunchmeat (the best). We made our way home, ate lunch started watching M*A*S*H on DVD and took afternoon naps. All was good until we woke up from our afternoon naps to find my head bleeding again in the same spot. It wasn’t much (I cried anyway). Chuck cleaned me up and we went on with our night.
So that’s it for Friday. I’ll be back later with Saturday’s blog. It’s going to be pretty hot and rather sunny here so we’re just gonna lay low and relax today. The kitties seem pretty happy to have us home. Mr. Soapy (aka Chuck) has promised Outback burgers for dinner. Yum.
Oh, and speaking of cats, we’ve all had a rough week, so here’s some kitty cuteness that cannot be denied. Whoever says that animals don’t have souls or emotions is just wrong. Look at this, the bond between mother and child is easily identifiable.
I met the Easter Bunny today. *laughs* No, really. I met the Easter Bunny. Don’t look at me like that. No, I haven’t been secretly swallowing handfuls of Percoct. I was on a field trip with my sister-in-law’s daycare to Duffield’s Farm. We went on a hayride to the Easter Bunny’s house, where he gave out chocolate to all the little girls and boys who found 4 eggs.
I had such a good time. It was wonderful to get out in the beautiful sunshine and spend time with my sister-in-law. She asked me to come out of the goodness of her heart to give me something to do. A few days after she asked me I decided it would be good to earn my keep so I asked if she’d like me to take photos with my good camera. She thought that was a great idea and so today I was official picture taker. I don’t usually take photos of people so this was a first for me. I’m quite happy with how a good deal of the photos turned out. I would never post photos of other people’s children on the Internet without their permission so unfortunately I can’t share any with you.
I had a great time today. It was the most alive and engaged I’ve felt in a very long time. I’m exhausted and contented and pleased with my first pretend “photo shoot”. My face has a little color and I’m happy. I hope you are too.
Thanks for stopping by every day to read and comment. I love you all.
