It’s been a long draining week. I had my first appointment with the oncologist on Monday then another follow up appointment with the plastic surgeon on Wednesday.
The plastic surgeon wasn’t as happy with the progress of the last wound as she’d hoped so she prescribed a new dressing and an antibiotic. When I put my prescription in at Rite Aid they called to say that I was allergic to the medicine I’d been prescribed. In actuality I was not allergic to it. There was an error in my record at Rite Aid. It showed that I was allergic to Celebrex, which is a drug used for arthritis. I thankfully don’t have arthritis and have never taken Celebrex. It also stated that I was allergic to penicillin, which in actuality is my husband. It took 24 hours to get that all straightened out.
Wednesday also brought about another let down. I was supposed to have my new wig fitted when I got home from my parents’ house on Wednesday night. We arrived at the salon only to find out that Martino was not there. I got to see the wig up close and I don’t love it. I don’t think I’m going to choose it. I asked if it could be curled at all and it can’t. I think I’ll spend Saturday wig shopping.
Of all the serious things that went on this week the wig fiasco was by far the most upsetting. I had my heart set on having hair again and I’m afraid that won’t happen this weekend. I really did love the wig in the pictures and I mistakenly assumed that it could be curled and made to look how I wanted it to. I should have spoken up earlier.
Well it’s almost midnight time to get this posted and go to bed. Sleep easy my lovelies. (((hugs)))
