We spent the first day of our October vacation at Historic Smithville and in Ocean City, NJ. When we were deciding where to go we decided we wanted to go someplace we’d never been before so we went to two places we’ve never been before! Neither of us loved Smithville, but I did find a wonderful Irish store where I bought Christmas cards. Ocean City was lovely. By the time we got there we were starving so we stopped for a pizza at Manco’s & Manco’s on the boardwalk then walked all the way to the end of the boardwalk, then took a stroll on the beach where I met up with Mother Ocean, who said, “Through all the storms I’m still here and so are you.” After a harrowing year the ocean was exactly what I needed to help me heal and be still inside myself. We walked back to the car and found an amazing spot to watch the sunset before heading home. Many thanks to the hubs for turning around on the bridge and stopping so I could take photos and watch the sunset. This sunset photo is from the fishing pier off the side of the bridge between Ocean City and Somers Point, I highly recommend it for a stunning view of sunset.
