The media and both candidates’ campaign staff aren’t doing them any favors. They better hope the power and cable stays off a few more days because they’re seriously pissing me off and our house survived the hurricane unscathed. I’ve had the TV on all day and the more the media talk the more I want to throw shoes at the TV.
MORNING TEE VEE
The media keep talking about President Obama and Mitt Romney putting campaign stops on hold for #Sandy as if it’s some sort of hardship. First, let’s be honest, Romney is totally out there campaigning. And then, really, do any of the candidates really need to be out campaigning at this point? Is there anyone who needs to see them one last time to make a decision? More than 100 homes burned to the ground, whole shore towns are destroyed, and more than 50 people are dead, honest to God stump speeches don’t matter even a little right now so stop lamenting that the candidates cannot campaign. You sound like idiots.
AFTERNOON TEE VEE
I’m watching President Obama and Governor Christie speak from Brigantine, NJ. Prior to this I listened to CNN’s Jessica Yellin say that President Obama will be back on the campaign trail tomorrow because his campaign team felt that 3 days was long enough for him to appear to be doing his job and not campaigning.
Appear to be doing his job?
3 days is enough time to focus on a natural disaster affecting 3 or more states?
Then I listened as Governor Christie and President Obama fell all over themselves congratulating each other for doing their jobs. WTF? Has the bar now been set so low that we are all grateful and excited when the people we elect do the jobs we elected them to do?
NOTE to President Obama and Governor Romney, this is bigger than either of you, this is bigger than campaign appearances and stump speeches, get off the campaign trail and let the chips fall where they may, we all know what we need to know about you at this point.
