Day 274
I’m totally writing this on Sunday afternoon and back dating the post for continuity. I’ve had a really long run of insomnia so I thought that I’d turn the computer off early and try to sleep so I made the executive decision to write Saturday’s post on Sunday. The photo however was taken on Saturday to preserve the integrity and original intent of this project.
Saturday was a full day. This round of medical tests began with an 11am appt. to have blood drawn. I didn’t particularly care for the experience at Quest in Turnersville so I don’t think I’ll be going back there again but that’s a story for another time.
After we left Quest we stopped at Einstein Bagel. One of my coworkers used to bring them in as a treat but yet we’ve never actually stopped at the one out on the highway. I ordered a plain bagel with pumpkin cream cheese. I’ve often said I like pumpkin anything. It wasn’t bad but I didn’t love the pumpkin cream cheese. I think maybe I was looking for something a bit more savory and this was quite sweet. I ate it but I don’t think I’ll order it again. The pumpkin latte was just okay too. But I’m not here to write food reviews, the story about Einstein Bagels that I wanted to tell you is this, the pretty blonde girl behind the counter told me she loved my hair, yes hair. She asked the cashier, “Do you remember when my hair was that color?” This nice girl made my day. Normally I’d feel compelled to tell her it’s a wig but today I just said thank you and basked in my own happiness. I felt pretty all day. Thanks Einstein Bagel girl.
After we finished our morning munchies we made our way to Deptford to check out BJs. Last week we got a promotional flyer in the mail for a free 60 day membership. We went looking for cat food prices and decided to activate our 60 day free membership to buy some Friskies wet food for PAWS in Philadelphia. They are in need of Friskies wet food so we bought one box of 48 cans for the shelter cats and one box for our strays, Goldie and Bobby. Our kitties started out eating Friskies but moved to Fancy Feast. We’re going to see if they’ll eat the Friskies again. We’ll see. Cuppy and Snowy are VERY finicky.
We left Deptford and made our way to Philly to drop off the Friskies at PAWS. After oohing and ahhing over some adorable tiger striped kittens we drove over to Geno’s for cheese fries. Yes, I hate their cheesesteaks but I do love me some Geno’s cheese fries. The line was down the block for steaks but we walked right up for fries.
After our yummy fries we made our way back to NJ for a quick stop at Wegmann’s for Red Jacket Orchards fuji apple juice and Natalie’s Orchid Island Honey Tangerine Juice. We made a quick stop at Springdale Farms where I pondered buying a $20 bag of birdseed then quickly dismissed paying $2o for a bag of birdseed. Moving on we made our way to Cacia’s Bakery on Rte. 70 in Cherry Hill. Earlier this year I read that the Cherry Hill location had the best pizza. We bought two slices of tomato pie to take home. I can tell you they did not disappoint. The tomato pie was magnificent. We’ll definitely be back.
Happy that we’d finally found the Cherry Hill Cacia’s location we drove to Trader Joe’s for some sparkling water we’d heard was good. This did not live up to it’s hype. chuck didn’t enjoy it at all. Finally we made our way to Duffield’s for some cider donuts and broccoli salad. Once we arrived at home we took the kitties for a quick walk in their strollers before finally retiring for a night of relaxation, which included catching up on Person of Interest on DVR. We love this show!
And, that my friends was my lovely and quite full Saturday. Two MRIs and two more weeks to go in this round of tests. I see the oncologist at the end of the month. Thanks for stopping by to read each day. I love you all.
Love,
~ Carol Anne
*hugs* sounds like a mixed bag. Funny how a nice comment can do wonders. How nice of you to buy those Friskies for the PAWS kitties and the strays. Bless you.
Actually SC it turned out to be a very nice day. :-)
