Day 254
Today is the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.I wasn’t sure if I was up to reliving the horrors of that awful day. I spent weeks debating with myself whether or not I wanted to watch today’s coverage of the anniversary. In the end I decided not to. I decided I could honor the lost and those left behind with my prayers without sitting in front of the TV for hours on end reliving the tragedy.
When my soul needs refuge I go to the ocean. Rather than spend my day glued to the TV watching replay after replay of the tragedy we turned off the TV today and drove down to Cape May for a nice lunch and a walk through the bird observatory. In addition to the many many birds we saw a bunch of blue dragonflies. In Japan dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength, and happiness. I can think of no better symbol than this for today’s anniversary.
The photos that follow are from our beautiful day by the ocean.
I love the photos
Thank you Phelan. :-)
