Day 140
Hello boys and girls out there!. this is Carol Anne’s husband Chuck writing for her tonight.
Before I start this, I just want to let you know that Carol Anne is fine, she had a little bit of a tough day today so she went to bed early tonight. In true writer fashion she made me promise that her blog would get updated, so here I am.
I had off today, so I took Carol Anne in for her daily radiation treatment this morning. She did fine, but when the nurse was re-dressing her head just before leaving, she noticed a blister on one of her wounds and when she wiped it, it started to bleed. It was not there this morning when I had checked her wound and dressed it, so I am not sure how it popped up. This was upsetting to her and rightfully so since we have been fighting with this one area for some months now to heal fully and the bleeding was one factor in her getting a 2nd surgery and another skin graft. The Nurse came and got me and we were able to calm her down. We did go on to have a nice rest of the day together but I have to tell you, traffic in New Jersey was horrible today at all hours of the day. lol. We did get to take in a movie today, the 4th installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I thought it was good, very good actually, but not great. I still think the 1st one is the best (that seems to be the running theme in alot of multiple movie chains. hehe). I know it is not one of Carol Anne’s favorite movie chains so I appreciated the fact that she went to go see it with me. But we are a good team and I have seen movies in the past that I didn’t really care for also (But I think the balance of movies that she has seen for me is squarely in my court over the 20 years that we have been together, haha). Anyway, we finished the night with some specialty shopping at wegmans for some stuff we cannot get anywhere else and then some food from Outback. All in all a good day, but I know her very well and I knew that her wound on her head was on her mind for most of the day. We also brought it up after dinner and that upset her again, but I calmed her down and she is ok now. Please keep her in your continued prayers. I really appreciate the support she gets from her family and friends.
Be safe and have fun….Mr. Soapy.
Tough day from the sounds of it but finishing it off with Outback? I”m officially jealous. Sending up prayers and believing that blessings will follow. Also hoping that after a night of rest you’re feeling better.
We Jersey gals are tough.
Thanks Jersey. After a good night’s sleep I’m feeling much better and much more in control of my emotions. Thank you for your prayers. (((hugs)))
Chuck, That was so nice of you to update Carol Anne’s Blog…at the end of the day the most important thing is you both have each other. I keep you both in my prayers on a daily basis. I am also so thankful I got back in touch with Carol Anne:) On a lighter note…hope you both had something very fattening @Outback…still one of my favorite places to eat!!! You should both try a Bonefish Grill if you have one near you great food…owned by Outback.
Hugs,
Christina
Chuck says Thank you Christina. I do too. (((hugs))) I appreciate the prayers. We have a Bonefish Grill in Deptford right next to the Outback. We’ll have to stop in some day. I’m glad we got back in touch also. I wish Chuck would get a Facebook so he could keep in touch also. (((more hugs)))
Chuck, You are a good husband! Thank you for taking care of our sister through all this! I am sorry Carol Anne had a bad day! I thought it was odd when she didn’t text me back, she always does. Unfortunately, I came home & fell asleep,(shame on me) I will give you guys a call today! If you need anything, please let me know. You guys are great together but lean a little bit! We are here for you both! Love you guys.
Thank you Arlene. Chuck says thank as well. It was a bad day, I melted down twice. Chuck finally convinced me to take some Tylenol PM and to just lay down and go to sleep. (((hugs)))
