Hey! Good morning kids. Hope this note finds you all well. We’re gonna play a little game today and hopefully get some exposure for good causes. In honor of last night’s State of the Union address it’s Big Block of Cheese Day here at Soapboxville.
Big Block of Cheese Day is a running plot theme from the TV show The West Wing. It was a day during which groups who normally would not get an opportunity to bring their cause to the White House were given audiences with the president’s most senior advisers. It was the pet project of Chief of Staff Leo McGarry. So in the spirit of the State of the Union address it’s Big Block of Cheese Day today here at Soapboxville.
What’s your pet cause? If you were given the opportunity to speak with the president’s most senior advisers what would you lobby for? No cause is too big or small for Big Block of Cheese Day at Soapboxville. Here’s your chance to give exposure to your pet cause and perhaps win a copy of one of my photos.
In the comments here give me your best pitch for why the full weight of the White House (in this case Soapboxville) should be put behind your cause. If you feel particularly passionate about your cause and want to write your own post leave me a link to your blog in comments.* The most compelling case for a cause wins a 5″ x 7” copy of any of my photos on Flickr. (pictures of me or my family members excluded)
Winner will be announced Friday, January 28.
