Updated 1/20/11 with grades 5, 6 and 8
Hey kids! I hope today’s post finds you all well and surviving this bitter cold afternoon. It’s been a bit heavy around here lately so I thought I’d offer a light-hearted photo post with a little commentary. I was at mom’s house yesterday for a few hours. While I was there I went through her photo albums looking for any grade school school photos she still had. I found a few and so here I present to you my awkward stages, the grade school years.
Some of the following photos are a little blurry and/or dark. Since I didn’t have a scanner I was taking photos of photos with my camera.
First Grade
I actually know this is my first grade photo. A few that will follow I’m guessing on but I know this one is my first grade photo.
Possibly Second Grade
I really don’t know what grade this is but I’m going to surmise that it’s pre curly hair and pre long hair so I’m guessing second grade. I could be wrong.
Third Grade
I know for sure this is my third grade picture because I have curly hair from my first perm.
Fourth or Fifth Grade, Maybe
This is probably either fourth or fifth grade. I know that I said that I knew the second grade photo was second grade because it was pre curly hair but I think I had straight short hair for my brother’s wedding, which was when I was in the fifth grade so my second grade logic is flawed. I look a little older in this one so maybe it is my fifth grade photo.
Fifth Grade
Okay, so it isn’t a school photo but it is a photo of my during October of my fifth grade year. This is me when I was a junior bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding.
Must Be Sixth Grade
I’m going to guess that this is my 6th grade school photo. My hair’s getting long and it’s curly and well it seems like this is the only time it can fit in to.
Quite Possibly Seventh Grade
This quite possibly might be my seventh grade photo. I’m a little heavier here and I think I remember my hair being this way for our seventh grade trip to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
Eighth Grade Graduation
I remember being so upset the day this picture was taken. The teacher told us we had to wear the graduation cap flat on our head not in the back with our hair styled around it so I did. When I got to school that day all the girls had their hair done all fancy and their graduation caps in the back. I hated this photo. I remember sobbing when we got these back.
So there you have it, 5 (now 8 ) embarrassing photos of me as I made my way through grade school. I’ll be back next Thursday with baby pictures.
* To anyone I knew during high school, my album of high school photos is ruined. It was one of those sticky page albums and all the photos are browned and faded and stuck to the pages. If you have any photos of me you’d be willing to scan I’d very much appreciate it. Thanks.
